A clear block for one task

Give it half an hour.

Use this thirty-minute countdown to work through a problem set, draft a section of writing, practice a skill or read with fewer interruptions. Decide what a useful half hour looks like before you begin.

  1. Choose one task and set out what you need.
  2. Press Start timer. Use Pause and Resume if you are interrupted.
  3. When the half hour ends, save your work and take a break.

This is one continuous countdown, not an automatic Pomodoro cycle. If you prefer repeating work and break intervals, open the full focus space and choose a rhythm there.

A few useful answers.

How should I plan a half-hour work block?

Choose one deliverable and prepare the materials first. For example, draft one section or work on a bounded set of exercises. Use the last part of the block to save your work and note anything unfinished.

Is a 30-minute countdown different from a Pomodoro session?

Yes. This is one uninterrupted half-hour countdown unless you pause it. A Pomodoro routine alternates work with breaks; this page does not schedule those breaks or repeat automatically.

Can I use it for thirty minutes of independent practice?

Yes. Set out the activity, start the timer and use Full screen if you want the group to see it. The countdown supplies the time boundary; you decide how to structure the activity.

Can I take a break before the half hour ends?

Yes. Pause preserves the remaining time, and Resume continues from there. If you want to count the break inside the half hour, leave the timer running instead.
